Dr. Castro, a native of Carlsbad, New Mexico, is proud to serve the community that shaped her. Driven by a lifelong passion for animal care, she returned to her hometown with a deep commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary medicine to the pets and families of her community.

With over a decade of experience in veterinary practice, Dr. Castro has been a valued member of Carlsbad Animal Clinic since July 1, 2014. Her dedication, skill, and genuine love for animals are evident in every aspect of her work. For Dr. Castro, veterinary medicine is more than a profession—it is a meaningful calling rooted in service, empathy, and a desire to improve the lives of animals and the people who love them.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Castro enjoys a balanced and fulfilling life with her husband, Marco. Together, they share a love for travel, scenic road trips, hiking, and exploring ghost towns. At home, they are joined by their beloved pets, Mariposa, an affectionate and spirited dog, and Snuggle Muffin, a cuddly cat who lives up to her name. Dr. Castro also values quiet time spent reading and attending church.
