Sashua came to Carlsbad Animal Clinic in May 2020.  Sashua graduated with her Masters of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University in 2011 and is an LMSW.  She brings a unique perspective to College Garden with her history in leadership, human medicine, and mental health.  Sashua's favorite sayings are, “Above all else, please be kind!” and “Well behaved women rarely make history (~Laurel Thatcher Ulrich).”

Sashua has two amazing daughters: Stazja and Secoya; and two amazing bonus sons: JJ and Anthony.  Sashua and her husband, BJ, have a loving family, including two dogs: Honey the English Mastiff (and Sashua's favorite giant lap dog!) and Xena the Golberian; two cats: Aspasia and Pig. She also has Ginger Butters the Chicken; Solana and Dino the Leopard Geckos; Bob the Betta Fish; and Butterball the Coral Glow Ball Python. 

Outside of work, Sashua enjoys reading, music, camping, owls, and learning new things.
